The president of ITMA was invited to attend the celebration of the 24th SAARC Charter Day

December 8, 2008, the celebration of the 24th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Charter Day was held in Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall by the Afghanistan,Bengal,India,Maldives,Nepal,Pakistan and Sri Lanka embassies to China. South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation is a non-political organization established by South Asian countries.The purpose of SAACR is to strengthen the mutual cooperation in the field of economic, social, cultural,science and technology. On the Anniversary celebration,Ambassador of Sri Lanka Mr. Karunatilaka Amunugama made a speech.He recalled the development of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation in the past few years and the important relationship between China and SAACR.He said ,on the special moment of global economic crisis,strengthen the regional cooperation looks significance. The assistant of Foreign minister Mr.Hu Zhengyue and related leaders also present the anniversary celebration. Subsequently,they appreciate the performance organized by the embassies. The president of ITMA Mr.Zhao Xianzhang was invited to attend the celebration.
